Protection of personal data
The privacy policy regarding the protection of personal data is based on April 27, 2016 Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council (hereinafter referred to as the Regulation).
Data collection, storage and processing
Data is collected to:
- enable us to provide the service;
- allow you to apply for various events organized by us;
- enable us to develop new products and services;
- allow us to respond to your questions or objections;
- prepare anonymous statistics about the use of the website;
- analyze the characteristics of our customers in order to use them for marketing communication purposes.
Collected personal data is processed in accordance with the policy described in the Regulation.
Getvedu.app managers will use the data only for the purposes mentioned above and to improve the quality of services.

Getvedu.app managers, who have access to personally identifiable information, are required to ensure the protection of this information in accordance with this privacy policy, for example, not to use the information for purposes other than the provision of services that are necessary for the client.
Only duly authorized Getvedu.app administrators can access the data by authorizing with their password.
The data processor responsible for the processing of this data:

- for marketing purposes, there are trusted companies that provide marketing tools and with whom we have contracts.
Data that is collected:
- in registration, application and price request questionnaires - the applicant’s name and e-mail address and any other information that is included in the questionnaire.
- in vacancy applications - name, surname, e-mail, phone number and any other information that is included in the CV or other attached documents.
- contacts - the applicant’s name and email address and any other information included in the contact form.
- data storage time.
We will retain personal, customer and business information for as long as necessary to:
- provide services and information that you or your company have requested;
- contact you about the request you have submitted to us.
- the ability to access, verify and correct your data.
You have the right to request a copy of your personal data, check the correctness of the stored information and/or correct or update this information. You can also request to delete your personal information completely if you currently have no active requests.
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide you with appropriate access to any of your personal information that we hold for 30 days from your request for access.
To protect your privacy and security, we will take appropriate steps to verify your identity before providing information about your requested personal data.
Cameras and microphones in the vehicle
A Vedu ride is carried out with a second phone mounted in the driver’s car, the Vedu companion. While a ride is running it films the road ahead and the passenger cabin, and records audio. This is the safety standard the service is built on: a child travels without their parent, and the driver can neither switch the camera off nor start a shift without it.
What is recorded:
- Video of the road ahead and of the cabin, for the length of the ride. It begins with the ride and ends with it, behind a notification the driver can see throughout.
- Audio from the cabin, stored with that ride’s recording. Where the parent has allowed it, the same audio carries a two-way conversation between the parent and the car.
- Short clips around a harsh braking, acceleration or cornering event, detected by the phone itself.
- Video and voice answers recorded by driver applicants while applying, as part of the safety assessment.
The parent decides about the cabin. The in-car camera can be turned off for an individual child in that child’s profile, and a refusal recorded there is honoured on every ride, whatever any operator setting says. The two-way conversation is a separate choice, made in the same place. Every change is written to a consent record, so a parent’s decision as it stood at the time of any given ride can be demonstrated (Regulation Art. 7(1)). The road-facing camera is not governed by these settings.
Who can see it. A live view can be opened only by the parent of the child in that car, and only while that ride is running. A recording is reachable only by authorised Vedu staff reviewing the safety of a journey or a complaint about one. Recordings are not used for advertising, for profiling, or for any purpose other than the safety of the journey and the handling of a complaint about it.
How long it is kept. The recordings of a ride rated five stars are deleted three days after the ride, and those of a ride nobody rated after seven days. A ride rated between one and four stars is one somebody had something to say about, so its recordings are held until that matter is closed and then deleted. Safe-handover videos are kept for one week.
The legal basis for filming the road and for the operation of the safety system is the performance of the transport contract (Regulation Art. 6(1)(b)) together with our legitimate interest, and the parent’s, in the safety of a child travelling alone (Art. 6(1)(f)). Filming inside the cabin, and the two-way conversation, rest on the parent’s consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given in the child’s profile and withdrawable there at any time.
To ask for a copy of a recording, or for one to be deleted, write to hello@getvedu.app. A recording of a journey shows more than one person, so we may need to establish who you are, and to obscure others, before releasing anything.

If you want to access, delete (in certain cases) or correct your personal information, please contact the data controller who is responsible for the processing of this data (e-mail address:hello@getvedu.app).

If you submit a privacy-related complaint, we will record your name and/or company name, the name, email and country location of the person making the complaint, and the information that formed the basis of the complaint. We will use the information you provide to review your complaint and send you a response once your complaint has been processed.
